Not at all! Even though “shoe repair” is in our name, we work on much more than just shoes. Our expertise extends to a wide range of leather goods and everyday items, including purses, duffel bags, belts, wallets, and luggage.
If it’s made of leather, fabric, or similar materials, there’s a good chance we can repair or restore it. We encourage you to bring in any item you’re unsure about and our team will be happy to take a look and let you know what’s possible.
Yes, absolutely! Sneakers are a big part of what we do. We offer a variety of sneaker services including cleaning, gluing, deoxidation (restoring yellowed soles), and stretching. We also handle repair work such as fixing worn-down heels, patching tears or holes, and addressing separation issues.
That said, every sneaker is built differently with various materials, construction, and brand designs can all affect the type of repair that’s possible. Because of this, the best way to know what we can do for your pair is to bring them in for an evaluation. We’ll take a close look and give you an estimate for the most effective repair or service.
Yes, we do. Orthopedic shoe repairs are a regular part of our work. One of the most common services we provide is adding lifts to soles in order to adjust height and improve balance.
Beyond lifts, we can often help with other needs such as replacing worn soles, adjusting fit, or reinforcing areas that get heavy wear. Because orthopedic shoes are designed for comfort and medical support, every repair is handled carefully to preserve the shoe’s function as well as its durability.
If you have a specific adjustment or repair in mind, bring your shoes in for an evaluation and we’ll let you know what can be done to keep them working the way you need.
Yes, we can! This is one of the most common repairs we handle. When shoes start “talking” (separating at the sole), it usually means the old adhesive has worn out or the materials weren’t bonded correctly in the first place.
We perform a large number of glue jobs and have spent years testing adhesives to ensure we’re always using the right product for the right material. Before starting any repair, we carefully inspect each shoe for issues like faulty materials, leftover glue, or damage that could affect the new bond.
It’s important to note that gluing soles back together is considered a repair, not a full restoration. While our priority is to make sure the soles are firmly and securely reattached to the uppers, the process may sometimes leave visible glue along the edges. Our focus is always on durability and wearability first.
Yes, we do! Heel cutdowns are a service we provide, but there are a couple of important factors that determine how much can safely be removed.
First, the balance of the shoe must be maintained. If too much heel height is removed, the front (toe) of the shoe will tilt upward, making the shoe uncomfortable or even unwearable. Second, most heels contain a metal rod (called a shank) inside for support. That rod only runs partway down the heel, so it limits how much can be cut off.
With these factors in mind, we typically remove as much height as possible without compromising the shoe’s structure, support, or comfort. Our goal is to give you the lower heel you want while keeping the shoe wearable and balanced.
Yes, we do! Stretching is a common service we offer, but it’s important to understand that results depend on the material. Only genuine leather stretches reliably. Other materials, like synthetics or fabric, may give slightly but generally do not respond the same way.
We can stretch shoes in several areas, including the width, instep, and in some cases, the length depending on the construction of the shoe. Our goal is to improve comfort and fit while preserving the integrity of the shoe.
If you have a specific fit issue, bring your shoes in and we’ll let you know what kind of stretch is possible.
If the material on your shoes is peeling, it’s almost always a sign that it isn’t genuine leather. Real leather doesn’t peel in the same way, but faux leather (also called synthetic leather) tends to crack, flake, and separate as it ages. Unfortunately, once faux leather starts peeling, it’s very fragile and does not respond well to traditional leather care or repair methods.
Because of this, we do not offer repairs on faux leather. Any attempt to fix peeling faux leather is temporary at best, and we cannot guarantee the results. If you’re looking for long-lasting quality and repair options in the future, we recommend investing in items made from genuine leather.
Yes, we do. Zipper repairs are one of our most common bag services. We can fix broken zippers, replace sliders, or replace the entire zipper if needed. The exact process depends on the zipper’s gauge (size), color, and design, which we carefully match as closely as possible to your original.
For straps, we typically either repair or fully replace them, along with the strap holders if necessary. When replacement is needed, we source leather that most closely resembles the color and texture of the original, so your bag looks natural and well-matched.
Our goal is always to restore both the function and appearance of your bag, so it’s strong enough to carry again and still looks good on your shoulder.
Yes, we offer shoe shining services. Our experts use high-quality products to give your shoes a shiny and polished look.
Our turnaround time depends on the volume of work we’re handling at any given moment. We take pride in being known as one of the busiest (and smallest!) shoe repair shops in Atlanta, which means we’re constantly working hard to get as many pairs out the door as possible without ever compromising on quality.
We have a streamlined system in place to ensure every repair meets our standards before it leaves our shop. Once your items are complete, we’ll notify you right away by text or phone call so you know they’re ready for pickup.
If you have a specific deadline or need something rushed, let us know when you drop off your items and we’ll do our best to accommodate when possible.
If you need your items sooner than our standard turnaround, we offer expedite services for an additional 50% of the repair cost. This moves your repair to the front of our queue so we can complete it as quickly as possible without cutting corners on quality.
To take advantage of this option, your items must be dropped off with enough notice for us to properly complete the work. Some services like shoe shines or high heel tap repairs can even be booked as an expedite directly through our website for added convenience.
If you’re on a tight timeline, just let us know when you bring your items in, and we’ll walk you through the best options.
Yes, we do. For most repairs, we require a deposit of at least half of the total repair cost at the time of drop-off. This deposit secures your order in our system and allows us to begin work on your items.
The remaining balance is due when you pick up your completed repair. Deposits are standard practice in our industry, and they help ensure we can cover materials, labor, and the time dedicated to your repair.
Our Delivery Service is a simple and affordable option for customers who can't make it to the shop. For a flat fee, we’ll deliver your completed order right to your door. This service is perfect if you've already dropped off your items and just need a convenient way to get them back. No scheduling stress, no missed pickups. Whether you're in Midtown, Decatur, East Point, or Buckhead, we’ll bring your order straight to your door. Just let us know your address when scheduling, and we’ll confirm the price and schedule a delivery window.
At College Park Shoe Repair, we care about your items and strive to keep them safe. However, due to limited space and high order volume, we ask that all completed orders be picked up within 30 days of the ready date. As a courtesy, we send a reminder text after 30 days to encourage pickup.
If your items remain unclaimed after 60 days, a final notice will be sent. After 67 days, unclaimed items may be forfeited and could be discarded, donated, or repurposed. To help, we offer a local delivery option for $15–$25, available anytime before the 67-day limit.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage all customers to pick up items promptly or take advantage of our delivery service.
